Welcome

What is my approach to teaching piano? I believe that long-term growth of musical skill and awareness is its own reward. Music study also contributes to a full life. In my studio we pursue a solid, healthy approach focused on artistic discovery and personal achievement. My students have performance opportunities along the way, including informal and formal recitals. I work to build and strengthen a community of insightful, curious musicians and enthusiastic music lovers!

I teach piano at the Lexington Music School and also at my home at Western Avenue Studios and Lofts in Lowell. I’m a member of the New England Piano Teachers’ Association and the Concord Area Music School Association, two regional organizations that provide support to music students and teachers with wholesome opportunities and experiences in music education.

I hold Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Applied Piano from Boston University. My piano teachers include Tong-Il Han, Raymond Hansen, Maria-Clodes Jaguaribe, Boris Berman, Fred Broer, Saul Skersey and Marjorie Richie. I am a long-standing performing member of the Lexington Symphony. I serve as staff accompanist for the Lexington High School Choral Ensembles. I also run a concert series in Lowell, MA: “Loft 112 Events,” and I founded and perform with the Peregrine Consort, a Baroque period-instrument ensemble in residence at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Woburn.
